Today's answer:
References is a daily word game where trivia meets wordplay. Your objective is to guess the common word that all four hints - or 'references', in this case - point to. Each day's set of references comes from diverse categories, like science, pop culture, history, literature and more. The fewer hints you use, the higher your bonus score!
1. Tap a category to reveal its reference. A reference may be trivia, wordplay, or a mix of both, and it always points toward the answer.
2. You start with a bonus score of 5 ⭐️. Revealing each reference reduces your score. Reveal references judiciously!
3. The references are arranged in order of difficulty, with the most challenging at the top and the easiest at the bottom. Accordingly, the penalty for using each hint increases as you go down the list. The star deductions for each reference, from top to bottom, are: -0.5, -1, -1.5, and -2 ⭐️ respectively.
4. There is no penalty for incorrect guesses, but you only have 4 guesses in total.
