How to Play
References is a daily word game where trivia meets wordplay.
Your Goal
Guess the one word that ties together the four hints โ in this case, "references" โ of the day. Each day's references come from categories like Science, Pop Culture, History, Literature, and more. The fewer hints you use, the higher your score.
How It Works
1. Tap a category to reveal its reference. A reference may be trivia, wordplay, or a mix of both, and it always points toward the answer.
2. You start with a potential score of 10 points. Each revealed hint has a penalty that reduces your score.
3. The hints are valued from top to bottom as follows: -0.5, -1, -1.5, and -2 points.
4. There is no penalty for incorrect guesses, but you only have 4 guesses in total.
Tip: Play to your strengths and aim to solve the puzzle using the fewest hints possible. For past games and solutions, visit @referencesgame on Instagram. Questions? Send a DM there anytime.
